The MEF Scholarship Application opens January 3rd! It closes on February 9th at 4:00PM, so get started on your application over break!

How to Apply for the MEF Scholarship

  • Complete application online at www.mckinneyef.org (open 1/3)
  • TURN IN to Advisor copy of email confirming completion of submission    of online application
  • TURN IN to Advisor signed parent signature sheet
  • Electronic Teacher recommendation submitted online by your teacher.
  • Electronic Teacher recommendation submitted online by your teacher.
  • Electronic Letter of recommendation from a community member
  • Electronic Letter of recommendation from a community member
  • Due February 9, 2018,  no later than 4:00 pm

Essay Prompts – choose one

  • What quality in yourself are you most proud of and how will you apply that quality to your time in college and your career?
  • Describe a circumstance, obstacle or conflict in your life, and the skills and resources you used to resolve it. Did it change you? If so, how?

Eligibility and Common Questions

  • All MISD seniors are eligible.
  • Half of MEF Scholarships are based on merit and half are based on financial need.
  • Late applications will not be accepted. No exceptions.
  • There is not an essay length requirement.
  • Choose your recommenders wisely. Your teacher recommendations must be from a classroom teacher and not from a principal or counselor. A community recommender must be able to write about you. Titles do not matter.

Submitting Your Application

  • You must wait until all four recommenders have completed the recommendation. Then YOU MUST SUBMIT your application. A confirmation email will be sent upon submission. If you do not receive an email, first check your application then go see your MEF Advisor immediately.
