The McKinney Boyd Baseball team was eliminated from the playoffs this weekend after losing to L.D. Bell in a 2 out of 3 series. The games were played at John Paul II on Thursday and Saturday.
Game 1 did not go the Broncos way even though Boyd had more hits on the day than LD Bell. The final score was 4-0 with Jack Hagan taking the loss going six inning allowing zero earned runs on two hits and striking out 2. For L.D. Bell Ornelas, was the winning pitcher going seven innings giving up zero earned runs, three hits and striking out four. Chase Peterson, Tyler Collins, and Ethan Mann all collected hits for the Broncos.
Both teams were strong on the mound on Saturday in Game 2 but LD Bell was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over your Broncos 2-0. Chad Brown started the game for Boyd going 5 innings surrendering 2 earned runs on two hits over five innings and striking out three. Gould was the winning pitcher for LD Bell lasting six innings allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out one and walking one. Simon Reid, Chase Peterson and Ethan Mann all had one hit during the game.
